Where our ancestors lived, worked & played

Hilda and George grew up in a place called Shipley, not far from Bradford, in West Yorkshire, England.

SCHOOLS

Here are a couple of pictures of St Paul's Church of England School, in Shipley, which Hilda attended.

HOUSES

This is a picture of a house called 'Delver Fold', where Edward Alexander Daire and Hannah Maria Thornton lived in January 1892. Amelia Thornton also lived here at one stage.

Below are some recent photos of 28 Herbert St, Shipley, Yorkshire, where Joseph and Mary Wood once lived early last century, and the place where George Stanley Wood was born.
