Robb Family

Here is details Chris Robb has sent updating his families movements

  1. Gerard off to the ARC Academy in Tokyo, Japan. Commencing a two year course in Japanese. Very exciting. He leaves on April 3. Gerard also just recently completed his Diploma of Finance. He still loves his athletics and will continue with that in Tokyo. Already has a club lined up in Japan. Gerard has been running for the Sandringham Athletics Club over the summer track season. All distances from 400m to 10km. In Japan he will have his own room in an excellent dormitory facility for international students. His Student Visa also allows him to work a certain amount of hours each week if he wants too. All round should be a fabulous opportunity especially with the experience of his 18 months stint he had there 2 years ago at the Tokyo American Club and running his own personal training business.

  2. Anna coming home from Las Vegas for a "flying visit" early April. Two days in Sydney with Beth then 5 days with us in Melb. and Wang. Bringing a French Canadian guy with her!! Doesn't speak a lot of English. Interesting!! Can't wait to see her. Is still loving her job as Stage Manager and is now "calling" the show 10 to 12 times a week. The show is the latest production of Cirque Du Soleil called "LOVE" and features the Beatles music. Her CV will take her anywhere now! Anna thinks she will be looking for a change by November. Anna has been with this production since February 2006. Cirque Du Soleil is opening a permanent show in Tokyo and she is contemplating being involved there! Could hook up with Gerard?? Meanwhile, for recreation, Anna climbs rocks ( with chains etc.) in the Nevada desert and has been also canoeing and camping down the Colorado River.

  3. Beth started a new job in January after 18 months at Taurus Marketing. She is now with E-Media. http://www.emedia.com/ She is passionate about her work and also does freelance work on the side. Sydney expensive to live but Beth loves all the music gigs and boogy-boarding at the beach. She has a very nice flat mate, Allannah, and has made lots of good friends so I can't see her moving for a while, although she has very definite ambitions to go overseas especially to France. She now has good contacts in the graphic design industry there.

  4. Anthony not so good inasmuch as he has hernia problems. A legacy of quite a big operation when he was about 20 for osteitis pubis. I only mention it because it is not uncommon in footballers. At this stage he is coming back home. Better if the original surgeon deals with it. Not what we wanted but it is ONE way of getting him home for a while!!! Has been in New York for 6 years!! We are hoping it proves straight forward. The old scar tissue can make it more tricky.

As for us... we recently had 3 days at the Port Fairy Folk Festival. Our 2nd year. We camped with six friends on St Pats Primary school grounds. Great fundraiser. Sensational music and huge variety. Many international artists. Had quite a few from Ireland, UK, USA and Canada along with scores of our own Australian talent. Has been going 31 years and about 25,000 attend. It is an amazing event in a most idyllic location.
