Wood Family History

Newsletter No. 31: March 2005

Mum, Nanna, Great Nanna, Hilda passed away peacefully after a great life on 17th March she was blessed to have had a long and healthy life as we were blessed  having her with us for so long, not many families would have their mother with them for this length of time. It was obvious to Eddie & I while we were sitting with her about 15 mins before she died that she was at peace and ready to move on, she blessed herself about 6 times as we sat in silence with her. A funeral mass was celebrated on the 22nd March, we estimated that about 400 attended, there was 30 grandchildren as well as a number of their spouses and children. Nanna was buried at Fawkner cemetry with her husband George. Don't forget Nanna & Grandad can be heard telling of their meeting on our web site.

FAMILY PROFILE: Helen Maree Bellman.

D.O.B. 21/07/1962.

Occupation: Firstly-I am a mother! Originally I trained as a secondary Phys ED teacher and taught for 6 years before leaving to have kids. While I was teaching however I started a part time TAFE course in Designer Dressmaking and over 7 years completed this. This allowed me to work from home and do private order work mainly for weddings. Once I finished this I then started an Information Technology TAFE course ( part time again)  and took another 7 years to finish this. When the GST was introduced another possible source of income presented itself with the need for MYOB services.  Having done this in the course I then began bookkeeping for some small businesses. When my youngest began school this then freed up school hours to do some part time work out of the house. I am now working at a Bridal Designers in Ivanhoe  called Simonelli and have been for 4 years. I do not however sew there but having dressmaking knowledge and computer skills and organization skills means that I can do anything needed to be done except sew. I work 2 days a week, school hours. Sometimes an extra day when needed. I also have 7 small businesses for whom I do their bookkeeping.
