Family Profile: Terrence Paul Lyell

  • D.O.B 30th April 1965
  • Occupation: Business Services Manager ( what is this you may ask--building the relationship between the business and the IT group ) at Southcorp in Adelaide. ( You may have heard of Penfolds, Lindermans, Rosemount, Devils Lair, Seppelts just to name a few of the wines in the portfolio )
Previously I was a full time dad for 15 months, to my son Jake, while Mandy went back to work. This was the best piece of work experience that I have had in my career! ( Good on you mums )
Life before this I was a Project Manager in the IT industry for Bank West, KPMG, RACV and Carlton & United Breweries.
  • Wife's Occupation: Mandy is a full time domestic engineer and a great full- time mum to our kiddies. Mandy was also a Project Manager in her previous role
  • Hobbies: Windsurfing.... well it was when I was in Perth, only been out twice in Adelaide in a year
  • Interests: Windsurfing as above. Watching the kids grow up and develop- constantly
amazed at what they can do. Learning heaps about the wine industry. Camping with Mandy and the kids.
  • Children: Jake, 3 years old - can name all the Formula 1 racing teams and drivers ( been able to do that since he was 2 ) and loves anything to do with super heroes. He keeps coming back to his base of Buzz Lightyear, but has stints as Superman, Batman,Spiderman and more recently " Dash" from The Incredibles. Keeps us entertained constantly. Shana is 14 months-started walking last month and hardly ever crawls now. Has the cheekiest of smiles and dimples that melt the heart. She loves tackling and wrestling Jake, won't be long before she will win. We are very blessed to have such beautiful children , even though Mandy often says " It is scary, I have 3 Terrys in the house"
  • Favourite Entertainer: Tommy Emmanual
  • Favourite CD: Too many to choose- any good guitarists, jazz
  • Favourite Movie: The Matrix Trilogy, also man with 2 Brains ( showing my age ) and most Steve Martin movies
  • Favourite TV show: Don't get too excited here, but sport---- cricket and football
  • Favourite Holiday Destination: Anywhere; Hawaii/ Mauri, but haven't been there for over 8 years so I must be due for another trip
  • Favourite Meal: Red wine....oops sorry, you asked for meal, most deserts.....oh, you want main course as well? How about a deep fried calamari entree, followed by home made calabrese/ametriciana pasta ( hint of chilli with italian sausage/salami) follow by rich cream caramel followed by a port & chocolate.
  • Favourite book: The Magic of Thinking Big
  • Car you drive: Commodore wagon ( not my dream car. try a BMW Z4 or Porsche Cayenne Turbo
  • Famous person you would like to dine with: Tommy Emmanuel - fascinating life from the typical rock & roll lifestyle to finding Jesus and maximizing the talent given to him to entertain and to bring good news to people
  • Favourite Footy team: Still got a soft spot for St Kilda in the AFL & Hawthorn. and the good old Aussie cricket team
  • Pets: kids enough at present
  • What talent you would like to have: play guitar and entertain like Tommy Emmanuel or play cricket like Adam Gilchrist
