Wood Family History

Newsletter No. THIRTEEN
March 2002

  • Patrick Turnbull started Prep at Our Lady's Eltham and has taken it in his stride, his only concern he has is how much homework he is going to get.
  • Eddie Wood will reach the grand age of 80 on May 15th.
  • Paul and Teresa White have moved from their flat in Reservoir to a house in Montmorency, Julian Wood has rented another property not far from his previous house in Wodonga.
  • Chris Turnbull: recently appeared on the new panel show "Pass The Buck" did pretty good and was the last to be eliminated even the fact that his cousin Rennae Turner works on the program didn't help.
  • News is very slow this issue, I need plenty of information from all you family out there in cyber space.
  • You will notice an extra profile this month after several requests, it is on Keith Lambert our English cousin who many of you met when he and his wife Kath visited our country a few years ago.

Jokes of the month

A farmer named Brown lived alone in the countryside with his pet dog, which he loved and doted on. After many years of companionship, the dog died, so Brown went to the Parish Priest.
"Father, my dear dog is dead", Brown said, "Could you say a mass for the poor creature?"
Fr Bernard replied: "I am very sorry to hear about your dogs death, but unfortunately we cannot have services for an animal in the church. However, there's a new denomination down the road. There is no telling what they believe. Maybe they'll do something for the animal."
Brown said: "I'll go there right now. Do you think $1000.00 is enough to donate to them for the service?"
Fr Bernard looked stunned "Mr Brown", he explained, "Why didn't you tell me your dog was Catholic?".

A truck driver stopped at a diner and the waitress brought him a hamburger, cup of coffee and a pie. Before he could eat them, three young hoodlums on motor-cycles arrived. They grabbed his meal and finished it. The truck driver said nothing, got up, paid the cashier and left.
One of the motor-cyclists said to the cashier." Not much of a man, is he?"
"He is not much of a driver either," the cashier said, He just ran his truck over 3 motor-cycles

Quotes of the month
