Newsletter No. 11: November 2001
Birthday milestones this issue Maureen Robb 50 on the 27th December and once again Nanna Wood will be highlighted on the 13th December 102 (unbelievable).
How did you all go with the personal challenge
in newsletter 9 you may remember
I had no answers for Nos. 14,18 and 25 well Brant Lyell has solved No 14:
3 = B M ( S H T R ) which is "three blind mice see how they run". Has anyone
solved the other 2? Let me know if you have.
- Anne, Brendon Couch and family: travelled north to Cairns for a month testing their new caravan and maybe they will give a report on the trip in the next newsletter
- Sharon Prawdiuk Alexa and Georga spent a few days of the September school holidays on French Island doing very little but soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying life away from the big city
- Brant Lyell: won the Best & Fairest award in Coorparoo Under 12 Aussie Rules team for the 2001 season
- Gerard Robb: has finished his 6 month contract in Tokyo but has enjoyed it so much he is staying another 6 months, keep an eye out for his personal training web site which will be online shortly.
- Anna Robb: is making her mark in the entertainment industry and recently was stage manager for Carnivale which opened recently at Parliament House, the production was The House Plus which centres around flamenco dancer Antonio Vargas.
- Anthony Robb: is pursuing quite a different area, he recently obtained his bookies licence and has been working for Rob Waterhouse, so if you want any tips give him a call.
- Beth Robb: meanwhile is considering her option of Universities in the area of Graphic Arts & Design.
- Ian Lyell: has spent a month in Italy organising the importation of various items for use in his landscaping business (he claims it is all business but should we believe that)
- Rob Wood & Clare Reilly : have purchased a town house in Darwin and have now moved in
- Allison & Reggie Regalado: are returning to Australia probably February 2002, the events of Sept 11th has made this happen earlier than originally planned
- Rennae Turner: has decided that 2 years away overseas is enough for the time being and should be back in Australia by now, as far as I know the only family that will remain overseas are Gerard Robb and Amanda White
- Margaret and Fred Turnbull; spent 10 days on the Gold Coast with Mark, Pauline & children in October enjoying the warm weather.
- Kevin Turner: has been working in mines throughout West Australia and his job required him to fly to and from the mines by light aircraft which he piloted, unfortunately he crashed landed late in October (he wasn't injured). Originally it was said that he was not authorised to fly the plane, but this was proved incorrect and he did have permission to fly it, it seems that the company may not have been servicing the plane properly which contributed to the crash.
- Sonja Belle (Michael Wood's partner) has been selected in the West. Aust state surf team and will compete in the beach sprint and flag events at the national titles to be held at Bondi Beach in mid December

Quotation of the day:
A friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.
Joke of the day:
A guy goes into a bar and orders a beer . As he
takes a sip of his beer, he hears a tiny voice say "nice tie".
He looks around and sees no one. He takes another
sip of his beer and hears," a nice shirt too." again he sees no one.
He calls the barman over, and hesitantly explains
that he's hearing voices talking to him...." Of course," smiles the barman,
"it's the peanuts - they're complimentary"
A flea and a fly in a flue
Were imprisoned so what could they do
Said the flea "let us fly"
Said the fly "let us flee"
So they flew through a flaw in the flue
MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL
