William was first married to Elizabeth, from Glamorgan in Wales, in 1841. His second marriage was to Julia Burk in June 1854 at All Saints (Mile End New Town) in the Parish of Stepney, Middlesex. At the time of his marriage William was 36, a widower and listed as a Horse Keeper. His father was Richard Dayer, a farmer (deceased at the time). Their residence was listed as 26 Brick Lane Spitilfields. (witnesses Charles and Mary Ann Wilson).
