James Henry Norcott is the son of Amos Godsill Norcott. He married Adela (Adelaide) Ann Harrison in March 1850 in Melbourne, Victoria.

The MARRIED notice in the Argus Newspaper, from Wednesday 20 March 1850 said:

"Married at St. James' Cathedral, on the 19th inst. by the Rev. Augustus Strong, James Henry Norcott, Esq. youngest son of the late Major General Sir Amos Norcott, C.B.K.C.H. &c. to Adela Ann, eldest daughter of John Harrison, Esq of Swan Water."

Adela was the daughter of John Harrison and Jane Howe, and brother of the "father of football" Henry Colden Antill Harrison.

In the 1903 Victorian Electoral Roll, Adelaide is living at 17 George St in East Melbourne, and listed her occupation as home duties. In 1914, she is living with her son at 6 Jolimont Terrace, Jolimont and listed as a clerk (??need to check this)
