She married Francis Henry Byrne on the 6th of September 1826 in Saint Mary Magdalen Church, in Richmond, Surrey, England.

Frances and Anna travelled to Australia on the ship Warrior on 12 March 1830, with Anna's brother Charles Norcott. Their two children at the time died of dysentry soon after arriving in the new colony.

Anna Matilda and her children departed from WA back to England via Mauritius on 29 March or 1 April 1837 on the ship Shepherd (annouced in the Perth Gazette), while her husband Francis departed the next year in Spetember 1838.

Records show an Ellen / Annie Byrne marrying William Grigson in 1877, possibly from this family.

In 1841, the UK census lists Frances Henry Byrne and his children living at the Royal Military Asylum in Chelsea, England. In this census, the children Henrietta (4), Matilda (7), Alicia (6), Ellen (10) and Phillip (6 mths) are listed.
